The condition is a credit to you (will it get special rego status or anything on 1/01/14?)

No, nothing.
To be Classic Car Vehicle Excise Duty Exempt it has to been built before January 1st 1974, and this date will not roll over.
UK Government stated that this date will never change.

:Pout: Not sure what the time limits are over here I think 30 years becomes "special interest" or something.. For them to not change that date is crazy!

Yes, and I traded a 1972 SL, for a 1978, then this one.
Should have kept the first one

Yes but we can't turn the clock back unfortunately!  :undecided:

I occasionally miss some of the luxuries in my previous Hybrid

My old man would be very jealous. He has always wanted one of them.

In W.A. we get concessions at 25 years.

That was the original plan here, but money grabbing Government Squanderers needed the tax grab (VED). Vehicles registered up to Jan. 1974 still needed to display a current tax disc, albeit showing nil payment, but yesterday The Chancellor announced the future scrapping of displaying a tax disc (still chargeable) - saving the Treasury £millions.
