Title: Suitable wheel/tyre sizes
Post by: DCSY on December 08, 2013, 04:11:16
I was wondering if we could get a list going for i30s on suitable tyre and wheel combinations of different sizes

for example, I've got a FD i30 CW that i want to put 18s on but dont know the appropriate width or offset.

Maybe we could get a sticky up and running

Cheers!

Maybe we could get all the active members to put up what they're running

There have been numerous threads on the forum over the past 3 years about wheel sizes, offsets etc.

It would need someone with the time and inclination to find and tabulate them.

I smell the beginnings of a self-flagellation

It's not me that's flagellating so go point your nose in another direction.

Stock wheels are:
17x7j ET56

On 17", without looking too "aftermarket" I would suggest:
17x7j ET40 - 56
17x8j ET35 - 45

18" is exaclly the same:
18x7j ET40 - 56
18x8j ET35 - 45

Tire size, is simple:
225x45R17, 225x40R18.

I would always go for the lowest offset possible, just the have the rim flush with the fenders. These measurements will not rub, even in lowered cars.
I have 18x8 Et28 on my car, and I have a bit of rubbing in the rear, but I can live with it. :)

My standard wheels were 6.5x16, and the i45 wheels I put on it are the same size.
