Title: BigStu - a shiny blue one from Brisbane
Post by: BigStu on March 08, 2009, 09:51:59
Finally got around to taking some pics, so here they are.
Got the following options:
Protective door moulds, rear spoiler, window tinting, sheepskin seat covers (special non-gay type), and check out them chrome door handles.

Nice pix thanks Stu..

Any chance of loading them via photobucket or similar though and then just posting the image link as when I click on the little pictures you have uploaded they just disappear!

P.S. They are a bit hard to see in the small pictures but did you get the chrome door handles from ebay? They look good on darker colours like yours...

Niec pics Stu. I like the door protectors - they'd come in real handy where I live (and park).

Work fine here Dazz.. click 'em and they grow about twice their smaller size :)

Yep, I got the chrome handles from ebay. Cost Aus $45 posted to my door. They are chrome plated plastic and the quality looks OK. My wife just wanted something different.

The door protectors are a must have in our area as well. Back in the good old days you would get them as standard.

I uploaded the photos to photobucket but I wasn't sure how to attach them, guess I'll have to experiment around a bit.

You have 4 choices at the bottom of each photo you upload .. just click on the bottom one of the 4 "img" and copy that string then paste it into your posting - do the same for each photo (hope that is clear enough explanation)

Haha.

Isn't it bad to have these seat covers, nay, any seat covers on the newer model i30s, with all the airbags? I though some came out of the sides of the seats...?

If you look closely, I think you will find that they are just the seat inserts and that the side of the seats are still open and dont impede the side airbags.

Airbag opens normally with any better seat covers.

Got all the seat covers and the dash mat off Ebay from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CAR-SEAT-COVERS-HYUNDAI-i30-Front-Tailored-Rear-New_W0QQitemZ360137243901QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item360137243901&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318.

The dash mat is a really good fit just like them fantastic seat covers. I just knew I'd get a reaction with the seat covers that's why I took the photo!

I got seat covers for the rear seats as well. There's nothing quite like the smell of sheep ( that's sheep not kangaroo) in the early morning.

Here's some more pics of the GPS. Let's see if this Photobucket thing works.

As you can see it's just a piece of plywood cut out to the right shape with a mounting bracket attached to it.

The power cable is permanently wired in to the back of the radio and comes up through a hole drilled in the bottom of compartment. The rubber mat hides the hole if I ever sell the car, not that I'm planning to sell it within the next 10 years.

Dash mat.

You can get airbag compatible seat covers if you shop around... I assume they either have very weak or no stitching where the airbags are located in the seat..

Yes, they're air bag compatible. They got a hole in the side where the air bag is fitted. I think some other types have weakened stitching in this area.
