Title: El wire
Post by: VaerO on January 04, 2014, 02:05:11
Hello again,

Found this on eBay about a year before getting my i30 and i knew I had to do it!

Interior trims with EL wire - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8Hj9Z32j-8#)

But would doing this be legal in Australia? Would I be allowed to drive around with these on? And would it do anything to my 5 year Hyundai warranty?

I would hope that anyone caught driving with all that lighting and dreadful music would be charged with driving without due care and attention - or its equivalent in other countries.

As drivers, we all have a responsibility to drive safely - and when I come to power I will make it illegal to have such things as :-

speakers in a car that emit more than 80 decibels of noise,
distracting lighting,
fluffy toys hanging from the mirror,
smoking in a car

or any other activity that could be construed as a distraction from concentrating on safe driving.

I am sure that Dave and Rusty will agree with me.....

I'd be quite happy to allow all that (maybe not the 'music' though) providing it stays on the other side of the world from where I am.

First of all I 100% agree about the music, it's trash!

If I installed these I would use them more like a welcome light rather then a light that was constantly on... But even if they were I don't see any difference between these and the blue lights already in our faces from the dash, it's like a Christmas tree lol.

All that bright light would drive me crazy.

As it is, I allready dim the interior lights when driving at night because it's too bright
