Title: i30 FD and FDe recalling for brake valve problem.
Post by: bfc_xxx on January 21, 2014, 13:03:23
I do not know if this is the correct place to post this but today I got a letter from Hyundai and they say that they recall cars i30FD and FDe to check the brake valve because of failure. It is possible because of that problem the brake light may not light when you press the brake or the lights can be ligthed all the time even if you do not press the brake pedal.
Affected cars are:
i30 FD manufactered from 1 jan 2007 until 15 aug 2011
i30 FDe manufactered from 8 nov 2008 until 25 sep 2011.
Also:
1. cars with auto transmission will not be able to disengage <<P>>
2. cars with ESP will set out of order.

ps: I hope I translated as accurate as possible.

Which country are you in?

From memory there has been a recall on brakes which is to do with the switch by the pedal not operating correctly.

I am in Greece. On the letter they say that I have to take it to service center and there is no option to avoid it. I will take it next week when I will do also 4th year service. On 28th jan is my car's birthday.  :happydance:

Hi

What you describe sounds more like the brake switch which is a known fault, and cause exactly the problems mentioned.

A valve for the brake system would be in the ABS system.

Thanks, a common and well known recall here in Australia. I think other models of Hyundai were affected too...
