Title: i30cw Manual AC 2-Din Install Question

Hi all,

I'm a new member in this forum, and i'm a new owner of a Hyundai i30cw 2010.
tired of the built in radio system, i was interested in a 2 din solution and found this system from pioneer i put my eye on:
Pioneer avh-x4600bt - a new 2014 model.

in order to install a 2-din system i found i need to replace the facia of the console, and found out by looking in ebay sales that there is 2 sizes to choose from when ordering a new facia to my car model.
this is what was written:

"About head unit window size, 99% car audio head units (such as Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic etc) have 2-DIN size: 173 x 98mm.
Most of 2-DIN head units made in China comes with size 178*100mm. If your headunit comes with this size, please tell us before purchase, we will try to arrange correct facsia for you. "


these are the system's measurements found on the pioneer x4600bt's owners manual:
chassis 178x100x165
nose 171x98x18

what is this "nose"? does it reffer to the motorized part of the system? and by this measurements, what side facia should i order?

another question is have anyone here experienced with pioneer systems and can you connect them to the wheel control?

I can't help you, but several folks hereabouts have replaced their units.

Just like the nose on your face, I would assume the nose is the protruding section of the front screen, as in these pics.

Because the nose (the part that protrudes) out is 98 deep I would go with the standard (more common) 173 x 98 size!
