Hyundai Motorsport end day one with the three cars sitting in 5,6 and 8th place.
Another day of history for the team though as copied from wrc.com below
After Dani Sordo gave the Korean manufacturer’s 2014 squad its first fastest time in today’s opening Silves test, a second win in the shortened 20.21km Ourique (SS3) propelled the team into the lead of a WRC event for the first time.
The Spaniard was quickest by 4.0sec from Ott Tänak to move his i20 into the lead by 2.8sec over the Estonian’s Ford Fiesta RS.
All good and have survived a day which saw VW lose the lead to not one but two Fords, Jari Matti Latvalla in one of the VW's crashing out, along with Britons Kris Meeke in his DS3 and Elfyn Evans (long standing rally fans will remember his dad Gwyndaf in the Sierra Cosworth) in his Fiesta also rolling out.
Ex F1 star Robert Kubica has continued his woeful season to date by also crashing out of the event again.

Ended up with 3 fastest stage times over the day between them.
Hanninen got a puncture on the stage which Kubica crashed in and spent two mins changing the wheel, the 2 mins have been added to his overall time dropping him to 12th overall.

Some serious crashes on Day 1.
Both the UK drivers ended up off the road and down a hill on the same corner although on different runs through.
