Title: rattle sorted
Post by: joebris on April 13, 2014, 05:03:37
well I'm pleased with myself, had one of those annoying rattles that seems to always appear in any new car.
Rattle could only be heard at low speeds driving over bumpy surfaces.
It turn out to be one of the rear seats vibrating, there was too much play in the latch so the fix was just a bit of insulation tape wrap around the hook, now no play and no rattle :D

what annoying rattles have you solved?

On certain roads with a certain tyre pressure I would hear a rattle from the back somewhere.  It sounded like it was coming from the interior, but it turned out to be the rear rego plate frame knocking against the rear hatch door.  A simple tightening of the rego plate screws fixed the problem.

Had a similar rattle to joebris.
It was the rear hatch. Solved the same way.
Still effective 3 years later.

Footwell heater pipe on driver side (UK) rattling against the dashboard supports underneath.

I just bent the thin dash metal away from the pipe.

The rattle was more like a buzzing vibration at low revs.
