Hi.
Well, the wait is over. The new car arrived yesterday and I am pretty happy with it. Just a note for prospective buyers on accessories.
1 The underdash lighting is great and well worth the money. You cant see it during the day obviously, but it looks great at night.
2 I got the chrome moulding on the hatch added. The only reason is the car is red, and i wanted something to make it look a little different. Its more a decal than a moulding, and I dont think its worth $110.
3 the door sill protectors look a little cheap, but I guess they will fill the intended purpose.
4 weathershields and floor mats are a worthwhile addition. I know there are cheap aftermarket mats available, but the genuine ones fit perfect and look great.
Overall, the car is great. The only complaint I have is the paint finish in some areas. In the engine bay, I can see undercoat in some places as the paint is thin. Inside the door jambs, there is a fair bit of orange peel (thin paint again). But i had a look at others and its fairly common. Certainly not worth trying to have it repaired.
I hope this helps some prospective I30 buyers.

Hope you have many kms of happy motoring. :)

The under coat under the bonnet is not the only place,it was explained to me by a notable dealer, the reason this is done is to keep costs down, but all areas have a treatment on them to hopefully prevent rust.
As for the accessories,I gather you have found out many are very over inflated price wise,I have an older FD Hatchback,I got all my accessories after market,as good a quality(if not better)and up to a 1/4 of the price.
But yes their a great little car, nigh on three years I am still rapped in both of ours, may you have many years of happy driving

Thanks, it will be well kept. My commodore still looks like new and its 14 years old.
Will stick another pic up soon. Got the glass tinted today, and its super dark. Looks great, but it can be hard to see out of.....

Nicr looking car! :goodjob2:
Becareful if that tint is below 35%. The cameras on the sides of police cars in Australia can scan rego, speed, and tint percentage of 10 cars simeltaneously
