Title: Whyres & Teals
Post by: Doggie 1 on April 30, 2014, 11:31:07
My GD is up to 65,000 kms and I'm waiting for the original Nexen tyres to wear out, but there's still heaps of tread left on them.
When the time comes I think I'll put Continentals on as everything I've read has been positive plus my tyre shop recommends them.
I do need to find some nice alloy wheels as well though so have started looking around.
I'm not into extreme 19" wheels, etc, but some nice 16" or 17" alloys would be nice.  :)
Due to work though, I need to keep them looking pretty stock and not "stand-out" if you know what I mean. And not low profile as I park in the city frequently (kerbs) plus do lots of freeway travel (noise).
Any suggestions welcome, as long as you don't feel offended if I don't go your way.

Mine are from speedy wheels. They have a massive range. Prices are not bad.

So you won't be going for 22" chrome spinners and flashing lights then

Vayda has Continental boots fitted, which surprised me. Damn, they are quiet at 70mph.

You obviously don't know the full story.
Just remember, the media love to twist things.

Dave - if you want a quiet ride don't put 17" wheels on an i30. My first i30 had 17" wheels so I speak from experience.

I would also recommend Continentals.

After 2 days running Contis on my 16" rims, I have to admit they're superior to anything I've rolled on in the past 30 years.

May I ask which Continentals? Will consider for the next tyres for my car.
