Does anyone know of any good bonnet protectors for a 2013 GD active that are black or pressed metal look in color? Thinking of getting one, but don't want the ugly clear one hyundai offers
-
Not sure of any after market options but if you use the Hyundai supplied protector it would cost roughly $80 to have it sprayed the colour of your choice.
-
Welcome Craig.. Nice suggestion.. I've seen the underside of a clear one sprayed body colour (you could actually get paint put in a can and do it yourself for something like $35 David) :goodjob:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Would like to have a bit of contrast Dazz. I want i guess more of a tint style. Sort of like the weather stylevisors. I remember being in a thread when I was brand new on the forum, and a guy had a picture of his i30 which was champagne in color. But had a black pressed metal looking tinted protector. Don't know why I didn't bookmark it then. Don't think the thread was on bonnet protectors, but haven't been able to find it on searches... :(

Rusty has a talent for finding old stuff - but don't tell him the protector is to prevent chips in the paint when you run down bikers...................

Get some cheap clear ones off Ebay and hit them with some tinting spray....Job done.....
-
Good idea. Tint, gloss, matt, your choice! :victory:
-
I like the idea.
It never ceases to amaze me that people keep coming up with these new ideas. :goodjob2:
-
May be the way I have to go. Would just like a factory done one. If I could get one the way I would really want. Would be that metallic honeycomb smoke tint look
-
Oh, didn't realise you wanted it flavoured as well ( not expecting much are we!) :whistler:
-
Nope. Not at alllll  :whistler:
-
The bugs will appreciate the flavour.... :D
-
Never really seen the point of bonnet protectors, especially these days with sloped bonnets.
The front edge gets protected but the rest of the bonnet ends up peppered.
And then there's all the crap and leaves that builds up behind them.... :undecided:
-
Yes I agree Rusty (about the leaves and stuff) Only ever had one that came with a low mileage 2nd hand Pulsar I bought.. At least if you paint them it hides the dirt and leaves until you get a chance to wash them out!
-
You must live in the bush lol. I have no trees around me. And the chip that I had touched up wouldn't have happened if I had one on.
-
And my car gets washed once a week and chamy it dry
-
The novelty will wear off eventually, Dave.... :D
Then it will be lucky to get a wash once a year.... :whistler:
