Title: Indruction... Who needs a stinkin' introduction....
Post by: tr3mor on May 02, 2014, 15:11:51
I do obviously, and hopefully you folks see the little bit of humor i tried to create there.

Anyhow, been a Elantra Touring GL owner since they first hit Canada in spring of 2009 (in fact May 1st was my 5 year anniversary of owning her... uh-oh Warranty up and only 62,000 km on her, not even broke in as of yet). Unfortunately she is an automatic, was hoping to purchase the manual but when I asked at the dealer they had nothing on the lot or in transit which was "standard" so they said 9-12 weeks delivery and I couldn't justify a 4 hour drive to the next Hyundai dealership nor could I wait for a car that long.

I am a family man, with a beautiful wife, two small kids and two dogs. A Biomedical Electronics Technologist with another diploma as a Computer Support Specialist.

I tend to enjoy stuff like kickboxing, mma and hockey. lately been getting into motorcycles. Always been a fan of TRUE Motorsports, not this straight away into a long left turn followed by another straight and repeat, OR 1/4 mile to fame stuff that passes here in North America.  And in the past couple of years, I have been running the wagon in a few AutoX events.

Anything else please feel free to ask away. I will try to answer as best I can.

Thanks, and since I said that about AutoX, I guess I should show at least one attempt (first time on a course in the touring, and first car through)
oh this is North American vs European, so single car on track vs multiple...

don't believe I have much in photos, and nothing to show, just the average run of the mill GL no mods and steel rims but may add some later.

Welcome Tr3mor.
The Atlantic coast of Canada is one of the few places in the world I would still like to see.
Autocross events in Australia only feature one car at a time, too.

Thanks folks for making me feel so welcome, I am gonna add a few shots here, maybe add a gallery later.

Surferdude, do you do AutoCross, or TSD rally events? if so this may also interest ya, targanewfoundland.com, I can't imagine a better way to see the island if you're not from here.

And dazzler, i'll even include a family photo from our latest little monsters baptism.

Not any more. Drove rallies, rally sprints (similar to your autocross but with a navigator) and autocross for a long time, years ago. Datsuns, Renaults and Subarus.
I've been as far east as Montreal. My son lives in Mississauga with his Canadian wife and our two grandchildren.
We have a few Targa style events in Australia, notably in Tasmania where Dazzler is, but also in South Oz and WA.

I knew of Targa Tasmania, as that was the one that sparked the idea for Targa Newfoundland. I wanna drive Targa Tasmania as well someday, but I figure I gotta at least enter the one in Newfoundland first. On the family side, it is to bad they are so far away, do you get to see them often?

Nice pics and nice looking family... :goodjob:
All the "action" photos were from an event here in 2011, Fly your Car in Gander. They are a nice start, but plane jane and barely even notice the car moving.
as for the family photo, thanks :) I think they are quite cute as well...to bad the bearded guy had to be there, he ruins the photo :)

Hi tr3mor,

Welcome to the club!!  I've been to Newfoundland only the once, but would love to get back there again.  I was in St John's for a couple of nights (George Street was quite memorable).  I've also been to Halifax on the Atlantic Coast.  Luckily for me, it was in July.

Great intro post, by the way!!   :goodjob:
