i30s are spreading. having seen none in West Yorkshire for over a year, I have seen 3 in the past 2 days. Two were in that colour that best suits the car and looks so COOL ---- Black. Anyway my question I am sure someone can easily answer. I have had my i30 for 6 weeks and an amazed at the good fuel consumption. I want to compare my mpg with the l/100 k that a lot of you give. How do I convert?
-
Hi Dan.. It all sounds good..
Here's the conversion
ltr/100km = 282.608/mpg

Mmm. Late here and have had a full day at the seaside with my kids ..... my daughter who is learning to drive loves the i30....so my brain is slow. Not sure how that conversion works as better fuel consumption is higher mpg figure and lower l/100 k figure ..... :-[

Hi Dan,
The higher the miles per gallon the less fuel used per 100 kms...
50 MPG = 5.65 L/100km
60MPG = 4.71 L/100km
Can do MPG to Kilometres per Litre with this formula (Might be easier to get your head around when you are tired)
km/ltr = mpg X 0.3538461
so..
50MPG = 17.92 Kilometres per litre
60MPG = 21.23 Kilometres per litre

How many miles you done Dan?
I've over 22k miles and I reset my consumption meter every 3k miles. I now get 61.5mpg, with a tuningbox fitted; otherwise I would expect it would be around 59mpg

Have done 2600 miles in my first 6 months! I live in Leeds and my partner is in Bolton....long story but result is lots of miles. My MPG varies according to my mood. Leeds to Bolton at about 60 mph gives me about 64 mpg. At about 70 mph, I get about 55 ish mpg. Today a trip to Whitby involving Bank Holiday jams and fast bits, I was pleased to get about 55 mpg. Encouraging my daughter to see if she can improve the mpg figure as she drives is useful as it is encouraging her to be more light on the throttle. The songs on my sons iPOD show how good the bass is on the speakers!!!

That's around 100 miles per week on average :eek:
You can't really gauge any kind of consumption based on such a low mileage. Sounds like you're getting a useful return so far tho
-
Dan, simple conversion is, a kilometer is 5/8th of a mile, 1 imperial galion = 4.54L, hope this helps. my cousin is a Leeds supporter

Ooops. Should have said 2600 miles in 6 weeks. A bit different! Thanks all for your ideas. Wonder if I can make up a formula in Excel to convert the consumption rates. a rather sad idea I know. Anyone an Excel user?

I use a conversion site such as this 1:

You can go from litres to miles (European or USA)
