Title: GD CRDI oil filter observation
Post by: Dogsbody on May 12, 2014, 12:51:00
The Hyundai part number is HY-26320 2A500.  Checking out the cartridge I note that it is branded MAHLE on 1 end.  MAHLE oil filters are traditionally a German brand and typically specified as standard equipment for the likes of BMW.  Are these genuine filter elements all the one brand, or are there others not carrying the MAHLE branding ?

Hyundai,Like all other car companies shop around and get consumables from where ever they get the best deal,I am actually surprised you found a name other than Hyundai on it,I've said it here before I love watching those how it's made shows, seen one once where they were doing filters and from the one factory they where branding several different brand names

I have a genuine new one sitting in the garage and had a look. It appears to have TORNLE written on one end in yellow. Same part number on the box and sourced from Hyundai in Sydney.
