Post by: Boamie on April 15, 2009, 05:16:34
Hey people,

Just would like to get some points of view from anyone who has had the Teflon Paint protection placed on their I30. and the same with the interior protection that usually goes with the car too,

Thank you all for your time

Luke

Hi Boamie & welcome to the forum.

There are a number of threads re this issue. Do a bit of a search & you'll find them easily. Consensus seems to be that these are a huge ripoff & are pushed by the dealers as there is a huge markup in it for them.

Hi Luke, and welcome.

Although not Teflon (I don't think) I had SupaGard treatment applied to Fergie. It leaves a hard sheen on the paintwork which looks great in the rain as the bobbles of water collect in small groups then roll away.

As for the interior, Fergie has leather facing on the seats and I look after these myself.

Welcome to the club Boamie.. as tj says.. generally they are over priced and should not be necessary on a modern vehicle...

Welcome Boamie aka Luke

I have not put any extra protection on mine.

Try to wash it with a good car shampoo/wax and in 19 months haven't noticed any issues with the paint work.
