G'day Sportsfans, I have noticed in the past couple of weeks my driving seat on ye olde FD i30 sqeaks now and again. Anyone else had that problem ? Could it be the extra weight I put on whilst overseas for 14 weeks, eating on Cruise ships and in those pommy pubs with the full English brekkie? :Shocked:

It's just lack of use, Lester. :P
Maybe spray a quick squirt of silicone spray under the seat might help.

Indeed Alan, you know the full English, baked beans, black pudding (or white) eggs done any way, hash browns, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomato and god knows what else. :Shocked:

I don't recommend WD40 which is actually a poor lubricant. Use silicone spray for a long lasting no-stain effect.

Best one I've found over here Lester,is a product called Dry Lube,some motor shops have it,some Bunnings,mine just falls off the back of a truck,speaking of which I must get work to order some more :whistler:

Dry lube is excellent, Rick. But I've only seen it in stick form and in this case, we don't know exactly where the sqeak is coming from. Plus there's some sharp bits under the seat waiting for exploring fingers.

Thanks all for the advice, Rusty I read your reports on your same issue. I think I will head to the Dealer and get them to look at the problem. :head_butt: Car is just over two years old and only 18000km on the clock.

Good idea, they never charged me for fixing it so hopefully your dealer doesn't either..... :goodjob:

I had this problem since it's brand new (4 years ago). The dealer took off the seat and lubricated all the metal and plastic parts, because no one could make sure where's the source. Problem seems resolved 95%.
Later there's another member encountered the same problem. He also took off the seat and lubricated, eventually he found the source (the red mark) and realized to use a cable tie to fasten that area. Job done. Here I borrow his picture for your information.
