Hopefully they spend some time improving the economy of the diesel. Is that even possible?
Well lets hope the new model is not like the one in the picture and has to be towed everywhere

Are those figures for the auto, beerman? :undecided:Also, what capacity TDI are those figures from the Golf for?
The i30 Hatch in manual form has figures of 3.7 for "extra", 5.9 for "urban" and 4.5 "combined"
Comparing the auto i30 with the DSG equipped Golf is probably more a comparison of transmission efficiency than of the engine... :undecided:
At first glance, no more changes than new grille. The 3-door model has had those different fog / DRL lights from the start. That is the 2014 European model from what I can tell, no changes in the front end/ grill at all, there are pictures in the gallery of 2014 edition 3drs and it's the same.
I wonder if the engine options will change; maybe a petrol turbo???

Be interesting to see what, if any, changes will be made to the diesel drivetrain. The 1.7CRDi would be a nice upgrade.
It would be interesting to compare to the Golf Diesel in real world driving. I'd suggest there wouldn't be much between them, especially the manuals.

You read my mind...
The 2.2 would be even nicer!
There's always the 3lt V6 Diesel too.:honk:

What is the pattern of the car before, if this is a pattern, I do not decide to buy it.(http://www.caradvice.com.au/thumb/960/477/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/hyundai-i30-facelift-8.jpg)
Dual clutch = no thanks. :(
Apparently really great, while they are working. But long term, not convinced they are that reliable.Theres less to go wrong than in a standard auto. The whole gearbox section is standard manual transmission. The only "special" parts are the clutch and selector, and its a fairly simple design.

I will defer to your increased knowledge on the subject. :undecided: (But I'm still not convinced.)
I can certainly see where Phil is coming from! :undecided:

After the reliability issues VW have had with them, I can certainly see where Phil is coming from! :undecided:
Hopefully, they do some odd things at times

Really? Bugger. I'd buy another, and that's not something I'd say about most cars I've owned. I'll have to hang on to mine for a while then. I wonder what it will do to resale values?

It not official (Just something I read somewhere a month or two ago)
If it happens shouldn't effect resale values as small wagons are are fairly scarce on the 2nd hand market and quite versatile (as you and I know) :victory:

If true, it could actually improve our resale values. I've been fortunate, in that the last few cars I've had have all had good resale values.
These days, though, relying on resale values is not a good strategy. Cars just get cheaper and cheaper.
