Title: Hi from Singapore
Post by: spheng on June 20, 2008, 19:20:34
Hi Guys,
I'm from SG. Currently waiting for my ride 1.6A installed with CNG. Really glad to find a dedicated
site for i30 owners. Hope can learn and share more on our ride. Cheers!

Hi spheng!

Welcome to the site.

Your 1.6 auto with CNG. What's CNG? Is it that gas burning gadget?

Good to see you   :D

(PS, do you like my ass?)

Hi Shambles,

CNG = compressed natural gas. Due to high petrol price I've got it installed with these option (bi-fuel) thus can save me some $$. I bought my car at SGD$60,199 without some of the features that Europe and Australia or other countries had. My i30 comes without the following: cruise control, curtain airbags, ESP, rain sensors, ipod connector, leather steering wheel, 17" alloy wheel
Auto climatic control air conditioning & 6 cd player unit..etc Maybe more I think. Felt that the
authorised dealer really know how to make money from car buyers.

Thanks, SGD 60,199 = AUD $44,891. For Pounds that would be 21,882. Is it consider cheap??

I think that is consider quite expensive, but you do have a lot of car to play with  ;)

Hi again Spheng,

Wow... sounds like you pay almost twice as much over there as we do for a "base model" i30. Although LPG would add a couple more thousand to that figure if it was offered (guessing say A$26,000 on the road)

Do you know if you will lose much luggage space with the conversion?

Rgds,

Dazz

Yup, I knew that as the 66 litres CNG tank takes up 3/4 of the boot space. Since I seldom place
much things in there, it is alright with me. The tank itself weighs around 55kg and it adds in another 12kg of CNG when fully loaded.

In SG, owning a car is an expensive liability since we are short of land space. Thats tell you why our government need to control number of cars on the roads to prevent heavy congestion.
