Not sure if you have that option but if you do you'd find it in the mode setting options via the steering wheel controls, your manual will explain.
I don't have the chirp option in my GD model, only the flashing indicators.

Well in the GD you turn the ignition on ( don't start ) and tap the trip button on the steering wheel till the option to change "user modes" appears on the dash display.
My old 2003 Mitsubishi Mirage could change several features of the user mode via a number of key/ignition turning sequences.

If the option isn't already provided, and a suitable project isn't available to purchase, then I would suggest a circuit that senses energy to a door solenoid and only then energizes a suitable chirp circuit.

No user settings on dash for FD.
There is an option in BCM via scantool called "horn answer back" but Ive never been able (nor had the desire) to turn it on. I have tried just out of curiosity but it never worked.
You could wire in a chirp to lock and unlock signals but it would go off every time the door locks operate, annoying if you have HALO activated. If you have it turned off or can stand it beeping when locking and unlocking I think this is your best bet. Only problem I can think of is the signal to the actuators is very short.

I'm quite happy to use the sound of the locks engaging when close or watching the lights when further away. It suits my militarily honed stealth instincts. :victory:

Don't know why a chirp is necessary. Did you know, on the FD model, you can set the alarm even b4 the doors or hatch are closed. The car locks when the last open device closes. When we shop I do this and after the last shopping bag is removed, simply close the hatch & the locks & lights are activated.

Because often in a parking lot you're already several cars away and can't hear the locks or see the indicators, or you're simply turned the other way and there's too much ambient sound to hear the locks. Some cars only chirp when you press the lock button and the doors are already locked, which is the ideal situation: stealth most of the time, audible when you need confirmation.
If you ever get used to a system that chirps, you feel naked without it.

So it'll only beep when the signal is received. That should 99% guarantee the doors are locked.
Unless a solenoid's carked it or there's a continuity loss?
