Having a trawl through the approved used cars and came across these

Both at £13,995.
Given I bought mine in July 08 at £13,488 this would suggest that the price of the i30 is holding up pretty well given the global economic climate :)

That's encouraging Brian...
There seems to be a bit of variation in 2nd hand prices in OZ
on this site some are close to new price others are much lower (but still holding up reasonably well)

According to Parkers.co.uk I've lost some £5k

Good point and who knows what they would give us as a trade (or to someone trading on one of those advertised vehicles :P)

different people think differently, some think about how well things hold value, some don't.
i have a mate that just keeps his cars, he has a large property large shead, has every car just about that he has owned, never known him to trade a car in. always buys them new. but us city boys can't do that.

If you kept a car 10 years in a lot of cases you would nearly save as much buying a replacement for cash as you would get for the trade in... so you can see why people like your m8 do that... :P
