Had my first 'big' trip in the i30 last week.
Colchester - Folkestone - Disneyland Paris - Center Parcs Holland - Brugge Belgium - Eurotunnel France - Colchester
A total trip of 920 miles with an average MPG of 52.5!!! I think this was pretty good considering the car was fully loaded - 2 adults - 2 children and a boot crammed full of luggage. Air con on all the time. And no hanging around. Most of the time it was 130km per hour on the French motorways.
Compared to my ex Honda Civic the i30 was much quieter (apart from the kids!!), more economical and equally as comfortable. The 1.6 diesel engine performed superbly. It really is a nice car to drive. And I was not constantly distracted by interior rattles!!!
The Civic had a bit more boot space and cruise - but I can live without those. Loving the iPod dock on the i30 - couldn't live without that!!!
Only saw one other i30 whilst in Europe, so it gets extra marks for being unique!!
Cheers

Yay for big trips in the CRDi :) I did a 5200km trip last year, and come October, another 6000+km trip, criss-crossing the country :)
