Hi, my i30S (May '09 batch) is playing well with my iPod Photo now but I am thinking of getting a iPod Classic (80/120/160Gb) but would like to make sure if it works with the car? Anyone has that working well already in his/hers?
thanks

G'day!
I have a 30gb Classic, that I bought a LONG time ago, and it works fine, I can only assume these ones will too :)
-
Worked fine with my 2nd generation Nano.
Love the fact the Hyundai logo shows up on the screen :)
-
I can confirm it works with iPod Photo if anyone has doubts on this. How about iPod Classic, the later generation that comes in 80/120/160Gb? Anyone can confirm?
-
My 80G ipod classic works fine in my i30 sx using the special cable.
-
Yes yes my 160gb classic works well too, in case anyone needs to know.
-
I got a new iPod Nano (4th Gen) yesterday that matches the colour of my car :)
Works as expected :)
Just quietly, I have issues.

Just quietly, what do you mean? (you or the car...long as the car is o/k )
-
Me... for going out and buying a matching iPod just for the car :)
-
Oh, I get your drift... That's pretty normal for us i30 owners (It's a common thread on here)
We love our little Korean buzz boxes..(he says tongue in cheek)

Even though I have an old school iPod, an iPod Touch, already have a Nano and a shuffle!!!
I am though a little unhappy that I can't navigate the iPod folders via the steering wheel controls. Probably not super safe, but having to reach over is even unsafer! :(

So you haven't got the cable yet.. try ebay (you might get one for about $60 .. assume the one for the Kia Cerato also works on ours)
I just use a 16GB memory stick..

I have to reboot my car sometimes to get my iphone working!

Have the cable. Just if you want to change album you have to use the in-dash buttons, can't do it from the steering wheel.

Useful thread for iPod fans of which I am one.
Hey magicRob - does the nano's crossfade feature work with the i30 stereo?
-
Crossfade?
-
Crossfade?
from iPod 4g nano user manual:
You can set iPod nano to fade out at the end of each song and fade in at the beginning
of the song following it.
To turn on crossfading:
Choose Settings > Playback > Audio Crossfade and select On.
-
I see. Can't say I've ever used that feature. I'll give it a whirl and report back if you want?

Yeah if it's no trouble. I use the feature a lot in iTunes, it kind of turns your music playlist into a non-stop mix.

Crossfade should work, as the ipod does the audio decoding and send the music down the aux cable - as far as I know the USB is purely for power and data/control
