First time in the 22 years I have worked in Chemistry that we have had a real emergency requiring the fire brigade.

So the lab was unoccupied when the fire broke out within it :scared:

Misreported, lab was not unoccupied at the time but was unoccupied when the fire service got there!! That's why we have an evacuation procedure Mr Press Reporter!!!
Looks like an electrical fault on a piece of equipment, fire service are still investigating the cause.
Fire was contained to one lab, fantastic job by the brigade :goodjob2:
