A pill that helps people cut down on alcohol will be available to people who drink half a bottle of wine or three pints a night or more from today.

My wife once called me an alcoholic. I told her that alcoholics go to meetings, therefore I couldn't be an alcoholic.

All been tried before, eehhh it wer grand when I wer a lad, we used to use a drug called Abstem :-

I seem to recall that it was a quite dangerous as it affected the patient blood pressure dramatically if they had alcohol after being given the drug.
Did it stop the alcoholics from drinking (is the Pope catholic). No it did not, and I seem to recall that there were a couple of deaths <sigh>
