On my 2009 1.6 CRDi the turbo has got noisier lately.
It is noisiest when the car is driven from cold, you can really hear the turbo spool up.
I do like the noise but I am a bit concerned that it could be a sign of impending failure?
Any ideas please?

Just out of warranty?
Have you mentioned this before to the garage?

It's out of warranty,
Not been to a garage,
As a mechanical engineer I do my own servicing.

My 2008 have noisy turbo, it's easy to hear it all time.
Have been like that for the 90.000 km I've had the car (odo now 220.000 km) but sound haven't changed and I haven't had any issues with the turbo. :happydance:

You may be as lucky as Asterix rcflyers :fingers:, but if not you may be able to pick up a relatively cheap one from a lower mileage wreck...
Seeing as you are out of warranty, easiest to just see how it goes.. Hopefully on 12/12/15 you will be able to tell us still going fine! :victory:

Ok, thanks.
I intend to remove the inlet manifold at some point and remove the build up of thick oily sludge in there.
