Looking at all the fantastic photos of the latest i30 model i noticed that there seem to be two types of grille....
1. The really cool grille shown in the brochures
2. The butt-ugly grille with curved chrome bits and a smaller logo
Does anyone know what's going on here ?
Dave.

Dave pretty sure it's to do with the series, whether it is an active,Elite or premium
-
Aha........... we don't have those series in Holland. We get much more imaginative names like....
i-Motion, i-Magine, i-Vision, Business Edition, Go! and Go!+ (6 levels !!!!!!) and only 2 engines (1.6 petrol and 1.6 diesel)
But that's probably it. I suppose, with my luck, i'll get the butt-ugly option
Funny thing is it's not mentioned at all in the literature.

Someone correct me if wrong please.
Active/SR silver car.
Elite/Premium/Tourer blue car.
-
Hate to say Dave,IMO that all the GD model fronts are Butt ugly, love the styling of the rear, but for me the front is crap :fum:
-
I think the sliver car is the GD and the blue is the GD2, I prefer the look of the GD although I have the new styling on mine

Elite/Premium/Tourer blue car.
Used to be the case, but all models have the old Elite/Premium grille now, even Active

Something like that I think, the higher range models have the painted front bumper and the actives ( base model ) like mine have the black bumper with chrome strips but mine might be slightly different again being a euro model :undecided:
-
Okay, but mine is top of the range...... everything but heated seats, front parking sensors and leather look interior.
I guess i'll see friday when i get it. It's not a sale-breaker, i still want the car, but i'd have preferred no chrome with it being Phantom Black.

If you get the one with the chrome strips you can always paint it :goodjob2:

Damn, why didn't i think of that. Thanks Craig :goodjob:
-
No problem :)

Not that I would be interested in doing it, but matching painted chrome bits to painted disc calipers, perhaps.
