Title: Silver Metallic Touch Up Paint for 2014 i30
Post by: huntdm on February 12, 2015, 02:24:52
Looking for i30 silver touch up paint.  The paint code is N3S.   Hyundai here advise there is no touch up paint available.  In the UK there is touch up paint available for this code, they say the colour howevber is 'Shimmering Silver'.  The car details say that the colour of my i30 is "Sleek Silver".  The UK people say the paint code for "Sleek Silver is RAH.

If anybody has experience trying to find touch up paint, and has found a source it would be appreciated.  Just need to make sure the colour is either "Sleek Silver" or Shimmering Silver.

I bought my sleek silver touch up paint from k-tuning.com with my intake kit, not sure if you can purchase it separately though as I think Dazzler mentioned you need a minimum $120 purchase to get delivery.

Is that the code on the sticker?

If so then ask the dealer to contact hy hq to ask for explanation as to why car sold with that paint but not available.

Have you tried a body shop who have a gizmo which they place on the body and will read the paint colour.
They will then mix to that colour.

In Australia at least Hyundai doesn't offer touch up paint anymore. Don't know why, they just don't.
I would suggest as eye30 did, get some mixed for yourself. The paint code on the VIN plate should be correct.

I've always found Autobarn good for touch-up paint. They've usually mixed it in 10 minutes or so. I get 100ml  tins but I believe they make larger amounts and even put it in spray cans. I think the 100ml tin was about $20.
I've usually had the paint codes but when I couldn't decipher the paint code on my i30, they found the right colour anyway (creamy white). The colour matches have always been very good.

When seeking to paint my new body kit, I did a lot of Googling and established that my 2009 HyperSilver code MAD was often called Metallic Silver. A quick trip to SuperCheap and I had a great match in a $33 spray can. :goodjob:
