Title: Scan Guage 2
Post by: Mri30 on June 28, 2009, 07:36:02
Hi from the Gold Coast in Oz
I have recently purchased an i30 diesel auto, here on the Gold Coast and have a Scan Guage2 which I have used successfully on a 2.0 Tucson and also on a Nissan, but it will not work at all on the i30 Diesel auto. When I first tried it and calibrated the Scan Guage2 it made the car surge or miss very badly, so I emailed Scan Gauge in America explained the problem, they said it was to do with the cable, which they had an update cable and they would send me a new one at no cost, which they did and I was very appreciative of them, but this new one when connected just says "connecting" and that's it. Does any kind person out here know what is the problem and how do I fix it ???? Please
Cheers
Dave

Well this is a new one for SG issues.

Sorry I cant help any further than saying try a complete re start to the whole setup. I.E. unplug everything car off. Start plugging it all in again try both connectors on the SG. Be patient as the initial connection can take a minute or so.

As far as I know most if not all the SG owners on here have manual CRDi's so it might somehow be related to the auto tranny.

Hope you find a solution.

Regards

Daniel

If you go to the scangauge website for Australia it actually lists the Diesel Auto i30 as not being compatible.

http://www.scangauge.com.au/support/CompatibleVehicles.shtml

Select Hyundai from the list.

I myself have an SGII and it works well but I have an SR 2.0 petrol manual so a virtual opposite of the car you have.

Thanks Daniel and bez10y your quite right Scan Guage2 is not compatible with the i30 Diesel Auto here in Aussie, that's a bummer as I love my Scan Guage2

Bit of a B***** but maybe you could sell it to one of our members (if you wanted to) with a different model?
