What year would that be?

It's a 1989 model, last year most of the options were standard They split the models into Aspencade and Interstate in 1990.

Just 85000 on the clock which is peanuts for a 6 cylinder.

They're a lovely engine, Dave. It'd be like sitting in your lounge chair.   :)

That is just awesome and I wish I owned one  :Prayer:

Well, that exact one, to be precise :D

After not riding since 1982 (bloody marriage saw to that ) I've recently been eyeing up a return to the dark side, but I think I'd need to go to the gym for a few months to get any kind of strength back. I could hardly lift a Honda ST1300 Pan European off its stand last time I tried

I started with a CB400 as you know Steve, when returning to motorcycling.
But I think my next bike will be an ST1300 (probably ex police as they are cheaper).
I just want to get some experience up first.
Go on, you know you want to.  :D

Oh God, yeah. If they'd put a steering damper on it (like on the BMW's) you could lean back and read a book, on a straight stretch.

It's not meant to be thrown around, but you can, because Honda over-engineerd just about everything back then.

I almost bought a 1975 GoldWing GL1000 a few months back, but the seller reneged.  :disapp:
I'd like one of the first ones.

The thing is with these relatively heavy bikes, you only put it one the main stand for storage, all other times just on the side stand (just don't forget to put it out before you lean...... Been there, done that, spent a week in bed with a sprained back trying to stop it falling over. But i did catch it  :happydance:)

My uncle is a bit of a gold wing nut. He's always got one or two.
He even has a trike.

Can't a motorized centre stand not be fitted, I read that a bike had one fitted but I can't remember which manufacturer had them fitted, was a couple of years ago.

Does it have reverse on it?

They are available, but it's more of a jack, it lifts the bike up.

I remeber seeing a Wing with "landing gear" once, under about 5mph two stabilising wheels came down (undercarriage) but the guy was 85 or something.

And yes, it has a reverse. It runs off the starter moter. Just meant to make parking easier.

I think I would struggle just getting it level, most likely flip over on to its other side, he makes it look easy

As you can see, the side stand is out, You then grab the handlebars and the handle one the side of the seat, stand on the main stand and push it down, gently pushing the bike away from you until its level. Then pull back on the seat grab handle and push down with your foot on the main stand.

Just like that  :happydance:
