Title: Uk prices announced for new i30 line-up
Post by: diablo on February 25, 2015, 01:37:44
:link: Hyundai i30 Facelift UK Pricing & Specs Revealed (http://www.carscoops.com/2015/02/hyundai-i30-facelift-uk-pricing-specs.html)

I have been pondering about getting one of the new Turbos, they were expected to be priced at around £20k but it seems they decided on a higher price.

Seems unwise to me as there are a few faster cars which are available cheaper.

Though I'll probably take a look when they have them in the showroom. I don't need the extra poke but I might as well spend some of my money of a silly purchase 'coz I know my feckless relatives will squander anything I leave them.  :D

Great read - thanks for posting.

Still not sure about the 3 door - the absence of front foglights make it look a little bare.

arse end looks nice, but don't like the front

they should ditch the 1.6 and throw in a 2.0L  turbo with about 250bhp

Honda are bringing out a 2.0L turbo which they claim will do 276bhp at least which will more likely be thrown into the civic

bugger everyone else and treat yourself, you've earned it you spend it

The higher power CRDi does not make it in to band A for VED

Perhaps that was the case for the existing model, I haven't been paying attention. For me this is a disappointment.

Sexy!

I am not sure how the Pound Sterling scales to our Rand, but for the price of the most expensive variant (Diesel Wagon) you can get a VW Golf 7 GTI DSG which will hold it's value much better here in SA, and probably end up close to or better specced than the Hyundai. And that's not taking into account our prices are usually 10 - 15% higher than overseas... :faint:

Not that I'd ever buy a VW, I have a dislike for their cars and the brand as a whole... :whistler:

Doesn't seem to get the 136 HP CRDi here in DK...  :disapp:

Why is it that if you want the high power engine you MUST buy the Premium..   Why do those import agents allways think that we absolutely need all the bling just because we need/like the HP engine...   :fum:

I might just do that.

Though I won't be pre-ordering, which I'm told can be done now. I'll wait until the reviews come out and maybe have a test drive.

I may not need too much raw power but the bigger band of torque, plus more torque overall, would be nice. It is easy to get stranded at too low revs to accelerate quickly in my current car and changing down uses a second or two.

Plus I'd like the extra gear as my five speed box has too low a ratio in fifth for motorway stuff. New five year warranty as well. :)

Though on the downside I'm not keen on skinny tyres and the high-sided seats look a little difficult for my, mainly elderly, passengers to get into. Though maybe I can get them a cushion to raise the centre?
