HI I just bought Hyundai I30 and there is only one option to control wing mirror by pilot on right of driver seat. Unfortunelly it totally doesn't work, no any reaction, any ideas what can I do ?
-
Does it have a little button/switch in the middle that switches the control to left - middle/off - right

Welcome, it would help to know where you are situated. Is it a manual or electronic control? What warranty do they give in your country? Can you hear any motor noise (if it is electronic)
-
CraigB: Yes it does
Dazzler: Poland, Wroclaw. Only electronic control, car is from 2010 there is no warranty, no I can't hear any motor, no any reaction, left and right is frozen.

Hi Adi,
It sounds like you could have a break in the supply power circuit or earth.
Could be blown fuse, short circuit in harness or the switch itself.
Unless you know what your doing with wiring diagnosis it's probably time to visit the dealer.
-
Adi thanks for the clarification. Tim is our master technician. You could at least try and check the mirror fuse under the dash or in the engine bay before trying the dealer.
-
Ok thanks you very much for such quck response, I was trying to find fuse for these mirrors, but coudn't find any, do you know which one is responsible for them ?
-
The fuse marked CLOCK also powers the door mirrors. It's 10 Amp and located in the passenger compartment fuse block.

So on that basis, if the clock is working it probably isn't the fuse! :whistler: :undecided:

I checked CLOCK fuse and is fine. So tomorow I will check buttons from left side of the door, but please explain me if you can, how the singnal flows here, I work as programmer with some knowloge about electricity. If I press button to move left mirror what happen next ? does the singal flow thrue computer ? Is that possilbe to connect to the computer and detect if button was pressed ?
And second question if buttons are ok, what else might be wrong or how can I check it ?
There is one more thing, except mirrors there is also an issue with radio, it doesn't work mostly, I mean when car stays on sun , radio might work for cuple of hours but then frezes. So I ordered new radio yesterday and will mount it tomorrow, but still wondering about these mirrors.
-
Have you moved the switch that sticks up in the middle of control pad to either left or right as this activates the control unit.
Stick to left activates left mirror and to the right for right mirror.
Then my pressing down on the arrows, left, right, up, down this moves the mirror.
-
oh off course, I was plying with it more then 20 minutes.

I can't see how the computer would need to come into the equation at all... I can only think of 4 things it could be..
The power source, the wiring, the switch or the mirror motors. If both sides aren't working I doubt it is the mirror motors.
The are two fuse boxes. One inside the car and another under the bonnet, did you check both?
-
As both l & R mirrors are not working, I suspect the problem is not in the mirrors themselves, but most likely power or earth to the switch. I would check the switch with a test lamp or multimeter to see if power is there. You will need the ign on of course and l & r mirror selected, too.

Hi, today I removed panel from left door, and connector with cables was disconected... i just connected and all work now ;) topic can be closed.

That's a simple fix and a good outcome :goodjob:

I bet you're really happy with yourself, and rightly so. Well done :victory:
