Because of my insider knowledge, I was in an unusual situation in that I could do the pre-delivery and detailing of my car. So although Crystal is a stock i30 SR, some of the following photos may be of interest to some members. Here goes:
This is the first view I ever had of her:(http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt236/MRH130/volvos/Crystal/02112008.jpg)
This is her sitting in the storage yard, still wrapped in her rice paper:

This stamp is on the rice paper of all new Hyundais, showing the exact date it was born:

This is the interior before I unwrapped her:

Here's the speedo reading the first time I turned the key:

Here she is when I got her out of the storage yard:

Here are the build sticker and shipping sticker:

Here she is after I unwrapped her and gave her her first wash:

My personalised plates hadn't arrived when I took delivery so I had to put these ugly ones on:

Two days later the personalised ones arrived:

Then a couple of months later she got a punch in the nose:

But she's fixed now, and here she is in her element charging down the Hume Highway:

nice color,excelent pics.

Excellent pics, thanks.
Now, just think how much better she'd look in Stone Black. You could then call her Jet, or something black'ish like that :P
-
Thanks Michael.. (you don't seem like a Mick )
Looking at the i30 from yet another perspective...great posting...
Now Crystal..Jet...Fergie..(That gives me an idea :D)

great post :D beautiful car

Must have been like being there at the birth of your i30
-
Well yes, it was like being at her birth, or as close as I could get without a ticket to Korea... But I'm the only person since that day to have put a spanner on her or even sat in the drivers seat. So she really does feel like she's mine. :D
Would have gone for a dark colour, but when I do so many country ks she cops a few chips and whatnot and I wanted her to be easy to fix because I'm fussy about that sort of thing. White looks nice with a dark tint anyway, and I actually get a surprising number of comments about how nice the colour is.
haha I'd have to think of a girl's name, all my cars are girls. Maybe Ebony.
Thanks for nice comments. :D
Michael (not a Mick)

I took one of your pics earlier and coloured her in using different blends/shades of black.
Also tried other variations of the spectrum.
Know what?
The best result was...

Crystal White :D

haha yep I'm very happy with her. Sometimes I think if I had my time again I'd get a Steel Grey SLX Diesel (that ship has certainly sailed now!), but Crystal's my girl and I'm glad I chose her.
She certainly looks very clean and fresh, which is always nice. :D

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who does this. >.>
I was terribly excited to be able to get a picture of 0.0 / 1000km :D

hahaha yes ever since I've had digital cameras i have always taken pics of interesting speedo readings. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one too!

Yep, it's amazing how much difference a discreet bodykit and those specky alloys makes... (nice and shiny too) :D
