mine has now done over 85000 miles on country roads in uk ,still looks good apart from poor condition of alloys due to road salt ,no rust on car ,great engine but a lot of road rumble and noise due to worn suspension and numerous potholes ,i still like it but would be interested to know how many miles others have clocked up and how reliable their car still is or should i give serious consideration to changing it which my be expensive and the worst of the depreciation is probably past now anyway ,my wife mainly drives this car and i usually drive a landrover defender which is 15 years old done 155000 and virtually no trouble in last five years only understandable wear and tear which i cannot complain about

Shambles, i think, had nearing 150,000 when he got rid of his first i30, fd model

Think my 1.6 crdi had more than that mileage and was still very very strong and lively.

My 2008 1,6 CRDi have now 228.000 km on the odo and still going strong.
Have had a few minor repairs, but most of it is what I regard as normal wear & tear.

I think there is a timing belt in the 2.0CRDi which will need replacing sometime?
-
I would just keep it as the 2L would have lots more poke, cam belts not hard to change if you know. also cam belts do not transmit harmonic vibrations like a chain does. so less wear & tear.
a guy i know did 800,000k (500,000miles) on a common rail turbo diesel then the injectors needed replacing so he sold it :)
