Hyundai's top selling car, the i30, has come in for an update that brings fresh front styling, new wheels, more equipment and a revised model range.
The biggest visual difference with the "Series II" i30 comes courtesy of a new grille, which has bold horizontal slats that bring it into line with newer Hyundais, such as the just-released Sonata and luxury Genesis.
The i30 is the hatch version of Hyundai's small car, with the sedan badged as the Elantra. At times the two could have snared the top sales spot had they shared the same name, with the i30 the more popular of the two.

Didn't they have 1.8 litre engines recently?
Gone back to 2 litres.

I don't keep up with the various models. Just thought I read somewhere that the HD went from 2 litre to a more powerful 1.8.

The GD's 1.8l engine produces more power (but less torque) than the old FD's 2.0l engine but the 2.0l engine in the GD SR is a GDI engine which produces quite a bit more power and torque than the 1.8l....

And yet the i30 didn't really seem to stand out any more than the other cars without them, maybe it was because the car was silver...or perhaps it was because the drls aren't really needed... :whistler:

They're actually very bright in the dismal weather we currently have here.
There were so many cars without standard lights on the motorway this morning at 06:30 - those with DRLs, though, really stood out and in some way compensated for their ignorance of safety.
Now, no more DRL battering please as this thread is headlining the portal page :D
