Our Barnaby Joyce has advised Johnny Depp & partner to send their pet dogs home. As they have knowingly flouted Australian law, why haven't they been prosecuted and the dogs impounded. Are there 2 sets of rules, 1 for the rich etc.
What are your opinions
-
He is a Celebrity Guest in our Country. They should have been quarantined though! :undecided:

Bit harsh to quarantine Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, isn't it?
Meh, maybe you're right
-
I actually posted about this on my Fb page.
The dogs should have been impounded, tested for diseases and deported.
Depp should have been charged, put before the courts and heavily penalized.
If you or I did what he did we'd have been in deep doggy doo.
Why weren't these animals impounded? :undecided:
But no, we're so weak in Australia that we give him 72 hours to comply.
What a joke we are and what a cock head Depp is.
-
The fact that money and fame allows different treatment of individuals by our govt is disgraceful.
-
I would of thought they would have to have all the necessary documents before they would allow the animals to board a plane.
Doggie i thought you had one of the strictest boarder controls on the planet according to what I see on the TV

Ordinarily, probably true.
But he flew in on a private jet and I'm not quite sure where he landed.
I heard that they've been here for a month before it was picked up that they had dogs with them.
Just total disregard for our laws. :fum:
-
There's half a chance the US didn't know about the dogs prior to their export, so they could well be refused re-entry there.
-
Or they could have picked up something contagious on Oz.

Chlamydia from a Koala

Or hepatitis from their drug using owner.

I don't think he's on drugs any more, that was a long time ago.
If he is on drugs then maybe I need to get whatever he's having because he looks great for 52 :goodjob2:

as bad as Bieber graffiting the wall and the qld premier letting him off while ordinary joe blow would have been prosecuted.....
-
Is there any evidence that others have been treated any differently to Depp? Not anecdotal, but actual cases? If not, which there probably isn't because not many people have private jets to fly their pets, then why are people baying for blood? Are you singling him out because he is rich and famous?
BTW, I think that the animals should be "deported" or euthanised, as per the guidelines laid down by the Minister for Agriculture. Depp may still face prosecution, but we probably won't hear any more of it, as out attention will be directed by the media to how some landlord kicked out his poor tenant who hadn't paid rent in six months.
-
Not baying for blood, just saying he should be prosecuted.
Everyone knows that civilised countries have border protection laws and he flouted them.
For that he should be charged.
-
Strange as it is , just a few days beforehand I was in the shop where the dogs were groomed, it is 5 minutes from where I live. I was getting a quote to get my dog clipped. Had I known it was frequented by pirates I would have had second thoughts. :snigger: Seriously though it was a serious offence considering the problems it would cause if the dogs were infected with any disease, I agree that they could have put them in quarantine to of at least made sure they had not brought anything into Australia. Customs said they inspected the Private jet when it arrived and found it to be no risk, some customs officer I would think is in trouble.

If I was you I'd check I still had my cutlass and also that I didn't now have distemper.

How do you think he got his recent hand injury that caused filming to stop? What do you think he did while his hand recovered?

That was on a hotels private property, they declined to make a complaint (and probably encouraged him to do it, they got plenty of publicity and something that might attract a few more guests).

Gee, after reading the title of this topic I thought it was gonna be an attack on good ol' Barnaby for his choice of words telling Pistol and Boo to bugger off home...
Have a listen to "legend" Kyle Sandilands getting stuck into him...
