Folks
I'm new to diesel engines.
Do we need to warm up the engine for a couple of minutes before shooting off?
the manual didn't seem to say anything like that but friends were telling me this is better for diesel engines.
any thoughts?
cheers!

Hi whaleshark ..
There are differing opinions on this... Lakes likes to warm his up for a minute or two before driving off and he's had more experience with diesels than some of us..
But myself and some others have it on (other) good authority that it's just as good to drive off gently and the car will warm up more quickly on the move.. just don't gun it until it has crept up the temperature gauge a bit. (They do take a bit longer to heat up than petrol engines)
