Title: Custom exhaust on the Turbo diesel I30 ?

Hey guys, I've recieved a turbo diesel I30, nice car :)

Great sound system and performance is very nice for a first car.

But the question I wanna ask is will a custom exhaust sound good on this car ?, I want a nice deep loud noise from the exhaust and was wondering if anyone has any videos or general experiance with such an exhaust ?

I got a 2" straight through cat back exhaust system made up similar to the one that Thumper and Lakes added to their i30 and there is a nice rasp under hard acceleration but it is quieter than you would imagine.. believe the Turbo and the Catalyst Converter muffle the sound somewhat before it gets that far through the exhaust system...

i think one of the biggest problems is the sensor in the cat straight of the manifold the is prevent me from getting headers  :-[

sorry i have a petrol dont know if theres any difference in exhaust systems
