Title: found a good polish for my i30
Post by: dxer2_2000 on July 25, 2015, 05:45:46
Hi Guys

I recommend for a polish to keep your i30 looking good is the Meguiars NXT Techwax 2.0. This liquid wax doesn't cut & will keep your i30 with that new car look. A bit pricey at $63AUD but hey, our i30s are worth it eh? However I do strongly suggest using in a well ventilated area as the box suggests otherwise you'll get high on this stuff :whistler:

Just thought I'd drop in this suggestion as there are a zillion product variations out there ^& can be confusing as to what to get sometimes.

You're getting ripped off if that's what you are paying for Meguiars NXT Techwax 2.0  $49.50 is the retail price of that stuff :link: Meguiar's - POLISH & PROTECT (http://www.meguiars.com.au/polish-protect/)

Personally I prefer the Ultimate Liquid Wax, even easier to apply and remove with a better and longer lasting finish ( and it does'nt leave residue marks on the black plastics :) )

I just got it at my local Repco in Cooma. I guess they are overpriced. I may try that Ultimate wax. I had been using a liquid wax from Germany called "Synpol" but its shine only seemed to last a few days before starting to dull. Doesn't help that I need to wash my i30 everyday due to road grime.

I found the NXT easy to rub in. I used two cloths, one to apply & one to buff.

Repco are usually always overpriced, I went by there the other day to enquire about some Castrol dex111 auto trans fliud...they wanted $50 :faint: it was $30 next door at SuperCheap :goodjob2:

You'll love the Ultimate Wax, I only re-wax mine every 4-6 months and wash fortnightly with Ultimate Wash n Wax :link: Meguiar's - ULTIMATE WASH N WAX (http://www.meguiars.com.au/wash-maintain/ultimate-wash-n-wax/) which helps boost and maintain the wax level/protection.

Hello guys which one do you think is better for the maguiars wax the paste or the liquid one plz
Title: Re: found a good polish for my i30

Being that we have been discussing liquid wax in this topic that should give some hint as to what we think is better :whistler:

Paste is good but it's old school, much harder to work with and with the added compounds in liquid it'll last longer between applications.

It looks to be the right one but would be nice if they confirmed the size of the bottle. Assume it is 18oz or 532 Ml?

Wouldn't you prefer the Ultimate wax :link: Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax Polish 473ml G18216 NEW Hydrophobic Wax | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meguiars-Ultimate-Liquid-Wax-Polish-473ml-G18216-NEW-Hydrophobic-Wax-/231178989120?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35d3576e40) , it's a better product than the NXT Tech wax.

If you read through this topic that question has already been answered, the better product is also more expensive.

Parking it out in the rain does not constitute a really good clean, Dazz.  :D

Meguiars is good stuff, using the Ultimate currently but a Carnauba based wax will give a high gloss shine.

The Ultimate recommends putting it on in shade but I don't have much shade here, It says its ok to put on in direct sun and I did. Geeez what a workout. I wouldn't recommend direct sun waxing. Plus it was 121 degrees F today,,,Yahooo. Sure looks good tho.

Yeah it can be done in the sun but you have to do a square foot at a time and buff off straight away, if in the shade the whole car can be done then buffed afterwards.

Some shade in a park somewhere would have been useful if there is no carport or trees at home.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm a fan of Meguiars. I just got the Ultimate wash and wax yesterday, I haven't used that one yet. Wish my car looked sparkly-just-driven-from-the-card-yard-new look all the time :D.

I think it shrunk in the wash LOL (you really should try a hosting site) Attachments often get lost if the site crashes and your efforts would be a lot better displayed in a bigger photo. You can go Full HD or bigger! :goodjob:

Definitely a meguiars fan too!

I used the NXT products on my Black 2005 Elantra and after 10 years the car had a shine like no other Black Elantra of that age... It still had that deep black reflection that always made washing it satisfying.

Sold the gem to a guy that appreciated how I had looked after it and bought it without even driving it... Will always use meguiars products and lambs wool mitts to wash my cars
