Ignore the idiotic American's posts in the comments. I think they are jealous that Hyundai is gaining ground by the day while American manufacturers are slipping into bankruptcy at an alarming rate. Darwinism?

Absolutely brilliant... Just a few comments (unusual for me)
It goes without saying but his car control is magnificent! Love to see him do Targa Tas in a Genesis
There is no way Targa Tas would get away with having Spectators on the outside of corners like that
Wonder what sort of tyres they used (I want some )
Thanks L.D. Riveting stuff

Impressive driving.
With BMW leaving the F1 next year maybe Hyundai should make a bid for all their old gear and start a team :D
-
Hey Dazz, did you see that Eric Bana's movie about driving his car in the Targa is now out on DVD? It's quite good!

Thanks M8, I might have to treat myself to that... :D

Love the Beast is good, but it's the sort of movie you'll only "get" if you love your cars. Probably not many people found it a tear-jerker, but I did. :'(
I took someone who likes cars but doesn't get attached to them and she thought it (and I) was crazy

That's awesome. First fully filmed run I've seen since Ari Vataanen's Peugeot WRC in the late 1980's.
Actually, they seem to have sealed some of the course and added armco since then. Although, maybe they were selective in the Peugeot footage. Especially worth a look to get some idea of the drops off the side up high. If I can find the link I'll post it up here. I know it's not a Hyundai but for comparison purposes it's worth a look. Try this one.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-K1B4sTX4o
Also I assume Rhys Millen is the son of Rod Millen, a Kiwi rally driver who made the move to the US years ago and made Pike's Peak his own for many years (originally in RX7s).

Yep thats him. One of the worst accents I've heard, a yank x Kiwi!
Vatanan's video definitely looks a lot more 'white knuckled' that Rhys's. That sun glare and dust looked killer.
On another note, check out Rhy's Genesis coupe with a Tau V8 mid mounted Still has a lot of tuning work to go obviously from the figures....

I've always been fascinated the way he casually takes his hand off the wheel, mid corner to shade his eyes.
And the bit where he's lining up for a left hander and his RR wheel almost hangs over the abyss.

Found this the other night when browsing and it has taken me till now to remember where it was discussed, a looooongggg time ago

Bit close to the edge in some shots.
I wonder how far down they would go?
-
Awesome  Very fast and very brave..It is a wonder so many of these guys survive to tell the tale (thanks for that Brian) could watch it over and over..

 bloody hell bumpkin
It's almost reckless. But I guess that's what wins things...
