Hyundai were supposed to notify me when the Turbo became available but they haven't as yet.  I notice that the website now says that they are special order cars and to call their head office if I want a test drive.

As I've decided to keep my present car until next year I won't be doing that just yet.

I'll be interested to read what you think of yours though.  :)

Mini Review time and Pictures  >> :link: Car - Album on Imgur (http://imgur.com/a/FKCPR) <<

Pros:

Packed full of features - such as, satnav , heated seats, heated steering wheel, bucket seats, bluetooth, follow me home lights, xenonlights, LED backlights, Cruise Control, Automatic Folding Mirrors, Leds under door handles and mirrors for when you unlock the car, Ability to limit top speed ETC.

Looks - There is quite a Few changes from the original I30, in my opinion it looks superb, The Exhausts really do it for me, its a real head turner.

Speed - Acceleration Is Brilliant, Don't Get me wrong its no Ferrari, but it seems like a massive Step Up from the 2.0L insignia I previously had.

Practicality - Seems Very Spacious inside and has a Large boot, I'm 6ft6in and I have a reasonable amount of leg room when sat in the back with the front seat all the way back.

Cons:

Speed-limiter switch under accelerator, This may be on all I30's i'm not sure, When i try put my foot to the floor, it will get 3/4 of the way down then stop then allows me to put it down to the floor, It does my head in

Economy - lets put it this way its not very economical, Average MPG including long journeys and motorway driving 19 - 25 MPG, when I put my foot down i get 3 MPG and when using cruise control I get around 35MPG.

Sound - The sound of the car is no bog standard petrol Sound, It sounds al ot more sporty and deep, i just would of thought that with them two Huge Pipes on the back it would of been a bit louder, but that may be me just being a little Picky.

Conclusion:

I Love the Car, Its Fast, Comfy, looks good, and its practical.  :happydance:

Looks good, those two huge pipes on the back are only tips, the exhaust tubing behind it is probably only 2 or 2 1/4 inch if your lucky...if you want a nicer note and a bit more punch you can replace the rear muffler with a sports straight though type.

Interesting that you mention the accelerator problem. Maybe its there so you don't snap your head off from accelerating too fast ;)

Welcome Sam :)
Title: Good choice Sam
Post by: Tarek on November 19, 2015, 08:16:49
Hi Sam,

Good choice my friend.
It's a very nice car -- I have one for 8 weeks now --
Though I believe there is still much to do on this model to make it perfect -- now I would say it's 75% OK
I wish they would increase the power to 150kw (204hp), then we would say we have a hot hatch :)

250hp would be better if we want to claim hot hatch, it'd be nice :Prayer:

A slight adjustment to your calculations there...150kw is 201hp ( 1kw = 1.34hp )

What they need to do is follow VW's R32 Golf and jam the new 3.3l in the buggers.

More than likely, they were rated at 12.1ltr per 100km when driven respectably.

Hi :)
Thanks for the adjustment :)
Fully agree, 250hp on this chase and gearbox would be  :happydance:
The exclusive packet is very practical and for a reasonable price ..
The service stations in Czech republic are very proactive towards owners.
Regular service is cheap and spare parts aren't so expensive compare to VW, AUDI & BMW
I love that car from all prespectives.

Really impressed  :goodjob:
