Title: Faulty valve body
Post by: Rob B on September 09, 2015, 07:19:24
My daughters automatic  :crazy1:FD 2009 i30 with 99000ks on the speedo started playing up when changeing through the gears, and after investigating this forum, the valve body in the automatic transmission is a common problem mentioned, l approached the Hyundai dealer with our concerns, and he confirmed that it is a common problem and to bring the car in and they would investigate, we did this along with the full service history, of Hyundai service, the car we had had from new, it was 6 years and six months since purchase thus 18 months out of warranty, the dealer rang us 4 hours later and confirmed the valve body was faulty in the auto gearbox, and that Hyundai would cover the full cost of the fault, which was $3500. 3 days later we picked up the car all fixed, at no cost to us, it has a 50000ks wty on the repair. What can you say but good on Hyundai !

I would say it is what's required by law. Good on them for not trying to do the dodgy though.

Awesome first post.  :welcome:
You should give the dealer a bit of a plug.
