Title: Rear window demister

Hi all,
        Just purchased a new i30 SX turbodiesel. Only gripe is the rear window demister-very slow. Is this normal for the model or do I have a warranty claim? Apart from that-- it's a lot of car for the money!!

Hi buddy :) welcome to the club.

My rear demister is very fast. Quite often my interior dampens up as it's always raining here and a lot of moisture gets on the mats, and hence materialises as damp on the rear window. Without using aircon (which I hate turning on) my demister will clear it in around 2 minutes, with the engine running of course :)

Think it must be a warranty claim.. Even clears frost off my window in a minute or two  :eek:

Just a thought buddy... are you using the demister without the engine running? That might restrict the current available to the elements in the window

Good point Shambles - mine is very strong and, like Dazz's, melts ice on the outside of the window very quickly. Sorts out any condensation on the inside in a snap. Definitely worth getting looked at. Even the demister in my Getz works very quickly.  :cool:
