Title: Update on a 157,000 km i30
Post by: Doggie 1 on November 21, 2015, 09:56:01
Well, Jean has now ticked over 157,000 kms.
She will turn three on November 30th this year.
Regular forum members will know about the EPS problem that she had from new but that has now been fully rectified by Hyundai and the car now drives better than a brand new one.
The engine feels like it has just been "run in" and the more I drive it, the more I like it.
She still regularly gives me more than one thousand kilometres per tank of diesel and I have kept accurate records of every fuel fill from day one of ownership.
From the start, only Shell Helix Ultra fully synthetic oil has been used and all services have been performed on time, every time.
Time will tell, but I expect 400,000 kms + from this engine.
So here's to the next 157,000 kms.
I will report on the kms when she turns three at the end of the month.
Hyundai certainly know how to build small, efficient diesel engines.  :D

She still regularly gives me more than one thousand kilometres per tank of diesel and I have kept accurate records of every fuel fill from day one of ownership.

What sort of driving do you do? i.e. city, country...? The average of averages for my wagon is 5.4 ish L/100km mostly city driving & some hills, so that translates to barely 1000kms per tank. The lowest I've had is 4.86 and highest 6.22.

Mine is mostly highway/freeway driving with some metro driving thrown in.

My FD can be a dog of thing a lot of the time... Another whistling turbo, sometimes rough starting... But the cow still gets 1000km a tank...

Condition-wise, close to it.
But she's a dirty, dirty girl.   :)

P.S. And she's now done 188,000.
That post was November last year.
