I'm looking to fit a towbar, mainly for towing a box trailer with some camping gear. I estimate around 700 kg towed mass, not heavy and we won't be in a hurry either. Has anyone installed a genuine towbar and do they come with the harness that incorporates the reversing sensor defeat when towing ? Also, has anyone installed an aftermarket transmission oil cooler ? I put one on my Skyline and noticed that it took much longer before the torque converter would lock up as this doesn't happen till the oil is 45 degrees. So the cooler is definitely effective.

Yep ive installed towbars. Comes with everything you need.

Thanks for that, I got a price for a genuine unit but the guys were a little vague when I asked what the harness comprised. Transmission oil cooler ?

Auto cooler isnt something i can help you on.
Something i want to do on my own vehicles but not something ive done before.

I've had auto trans oil coolers fitted to a few Fords over the years and from memory they were Hayman Reese brand, but never for a Hyundai.
-
I'd compared they price of the hayman Reese to the Hyundai towbar.
You might save some money. Hayman Reese are one of the best.
I used my i30cw diesel to tow a Jayco camper loaded up to 1100kg (fitted with electric breaks) tows with ease. You won't need to drive slow.

Sorry I've got a manual so no trans cooler

Sorry i missed the bit about the harness. The majority of the harness is plug and play with the plug rolling up and stored with the spare tyre, flop it out the hatch when in use.
The only bit to be careful with is if you need to run the reverse park assist cutout harness.
