Title: Newie from ozz
Post by: debra b on December 05, 2015, 11:02:23
Hi we are  from Newcastle Australia. Im joining up for the wife. We have just picked up our a new i30 diesel 7speed auto hatch. I have to say this is a pretty good car for the money !..
I will be getting the windows tinted for her for Xmas.

I want to fit a tow bar, but not a heavy duty job, just a light weight model for towing my motorbike with.
Im going to put some slim line weather shields on it, & thats about it.
So far we have 230 Ks on the clock. Yes its that new, so things are still very tight, & will in time get better.
So if anyone can steer me in the direction of a light weight tow bar, please do. I dont like the massive OEM one.

Ahhh - the 7sp DCT... I think only a few here have them so far.  They sound like they are/will be really good.

Just me being really nosy... it doesn't really matter, I am just curious... did you get an Active, Active X or Premium?

Sounds like you guys are enjoying it in any event!

 :welcome: Steve and Debra,

The 7 speed DCT Diesels are a bit scarce for a test drive here in Tassie. How do you find it compared to a conventional Auto trans? Responsive?

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I find the 7speed a ripper , Its seamless in the way it shifts. Plus the new gen diesel is smooth & super quiet. On the road, I'd say the whole car is more quiet than my 2012 FPV GTP..

The car is the Active, couldnt get the X they didnt have a demo. Which ours is, only had 82km on it & is only 1 month old.
