Title: Greetings from Canberra (Australia)
Post by: liability on December 14, 2015, 09:56:38
Hi Guys

Joined the forum a couple of weeks ago when I was thinking of buying a i30 CRDi.

I bit the bullet last week and bought an Active X CRDi DCT auto. I picked the car up early this afternoon and have just arrived home after doing 200kms  in it.

The fuel consumption, according to the dash thingy, is 4.7 litres per 100kms so far. This is a 50/50 mix of urban and highway. Very, very happy with that :-)

I did 80,000kms in the past 12 months in my Fairlane (extra large 6cyl sedan for you non Aussies) and spent $10,000 in petrol.  Hopefully should cut that in half with the i30, if not better.

Quite happy with the DCT auto, was thinking of getting the manual to save money, but glad I got the auto.

One thing I noticed after a looking at a couple of reviews, my Active X has the full leather interior, not just leather trim on the seats which most reviews mention.  Anyone else encountered this?

P.S. How do I change my profile to show that I have the Active X? When I signed up I was thinking of just getting the Active and put that in my profile, but can't see how to change it now.

Welcome, no doubt you will drive your i30 down to the 'Canberra Gold Coast' where I reside.

Just watch you don't slide off your slippery full leather seats coming down the bends on Clyde Mountain.

Lol, no not a politician.  Just a normal Canberra resident, not even a public servant (any more).

Bateman's Bay and the like is the last place I would be driving my new car tovat this time of the year  :)

Took the car for a run out to Braidwood the back way this morning. Drove the car using the sports manual mode of the DCT transmission, most impressed with the cars performance  :victory:
