does anyone know how to remove the plastic trim around the outer edge of the horn pad.mine is black and i want to paint it silver like an slx or sr model.  cheers  steve. :cool:

Be REAL careful of the airbag!  There was a post - i think it was in the TSB's about the EPS problem - it shows how to remove the whole steering column, i'm sure it has in there how to remove the wheel trim.  Sand it with 600 grit paper, spray it, then clear over the top to stop it scratching.

Oh it just says how to remove the wheel.  I'm sure there would be just a few screws behind the wheel holding the trim on.

It's too late and dark to check but if it is just screw holding it on from the underside then if you feel around you could probably locate and undo them with a short philips screw driver while the steering wheel was still on...

Yeah Dazz I reckon so - thats what I was thinking - should have explained myself a little better.  But you'd still need to take off the hornplate, so I'd disarm the scare-bag just to be sure.

i think the whole wheel has to come off. :mad:
