Title: Hyundai Ioniq Renderings Reveal More Detail of New Hybrid Prius-Fighter
Post by: eye30 on December 22, 2015, 23:00:19
The Hyundai Ioniq has been spied at a photo shoot wearing no camouflage at all.

Hyundai is looking to take on the Toyota Prius and has already announced that the Ioniq will be available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicle when it debuts. A small 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is expected to be used in the hybrid cars, though details on range and fuel economy are still unknown.

The overall shape of the small hatchback is reminiscent of the Prius, both of which were designed to have as little aerodynamic drag as possible.

Plug in hybrid is interesting....wonder how far it will go before reverting to the engine.

Unfortunately this is the way for now until Hydrogen systems are established.
Dont hold your breath for an Aussie model though.

Hyundai has released fairly detailed renderings of its upcoming Ioniq hybrid.

The car will take its styling cues from Hyundai’s current design language, which includes that big hexagonal grille and blue accents. Good aerodynamics were a major driving factor behind the design and Hyundai has already claimed the car will have a “class-leading” drag coefficient.

Inside, the Ioniq uses eco-friendly materials and has a clean looking dash layout
