Title: And so it begins......finding an oil for the i40
Post by: beerman on December 29, 2015, 02:16:41
With nearly 14k on the clock I need to stop procrastinating and get my oil and filter.

After much looking (and thanks to the recommended oil list posted on here ages ago) I have decided on Mobil 1 ESP 5w30

It meets the c3 spec that is required and is on the list posted as posted by Rusty way back in 2012

It is also fully synthetic, or so they say.

12l box listed on ebay for $166.25 (Ebay has 15% off until 31/12) through my usual supplier.

Combine this with a genuine filter for $26 delivered and I would say job done....

Unless someone can point out a fault to my logic.

In Oz, I run a 40 grade oil, especially for freeway driving. Just sayin'

I've used Mobil ESP 5w-30 in my i30 for the last 42 000km. I have no complaints about it. Allthough I change oil a bit too often (after 10 000km)...
