Title: Simulator Training
Post by: FatBoy on January 19, 2016, 06:53:46
I've just recently returned from my bi-annual simulator trip to Brunei.  This time we were able to get out a bit in the afternoon for a quick walk and a bite to eat.  Those that are friends on BaceFook may have already seen these photos, but here they are again.

Here is the "box of death" that I spent a few hours in.

Firstly, outside the box.

Now view inside the box, before all hell broke loose!!  The aircraft is set up at Anduki Airfield in Brunei (where the Brunei Oil and Gas helicopters are based).

This view is from the right hand seat (in this aircraft the Captain can sit in any seat, but traditionally in a helicopter, the Captain is in the right).

We got to go for a walk for lunch one day, and had a quick look around.  It was Friday, so the streets were fairly empty (Friday is the Muslim equivalent of Sunday for Christians).

An interesting sculpture near the centre of town right next to the river.

The city Mosque.  I am in no way a religious person, but I do appreciate nice looking buildings, whether they be Mosques, Cathedrals or an Embassy (the Australian High Commission in London is fantastic).

It was afternoon prayer time here (when the shadow of the object is the same length as its height).

Brunei is an interesting country, and one I wished I had more time exploring.  Very much like Singapore and Malaysia.  Very clean and friendly.

Yep, lots of bells and whistles that the operator has no idea about how to use correctly!!

Ask your female co-pilot. She'll know.
